Backcountry recreationalist may experience a rapid degradation in

in the higher terrain. The highest peaks of the Mission and Swan
ranges could receive up to 18 inches. Northeast winds 35 to 45 mph
develops in the mountains Sunday night.

* WHAT...Snow expected Above 4000 feet. Total snow accumulations 2
to 6 inches.

* WHERE...In Oregon, East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades. In
Washington, Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest.

* WHEN...From 4 PM Sunday to 1 PM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult due
to periods of moderate to heavy snow.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wet snow is expected mainly above 4000 feet.
This will impact the higher mountain passes including White Pass
and Santiam Pass.

Anyone with outdoor activities in the mountains this weekend should
be prepared for changing weather conditions.

* WHAT...Snow above 4000 ft. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6
inches.

* WHERE...South Washington Cascades and the Northern and Central
Cascades of Oregon.

* WHEN...From 8 AM Sunday to 11 AM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...For elevations above 5000 ft, there is an 80%
chance that snow accumulations will end up between of 4 to 15
